Two years later, I decided to give it another go and realized I was the only person at level 60 without a single PVP kill. I first played World of Warcraft when it was initially released, got myself to level 60 within about a month, realized there was no end game content yet, and promptly quit. With its sleek ergonomic design and 11 programmable buttons, it is a true tool of an king (please replace with the battleground of your choice).
However, you won't receive the same software that caters specifically to WoW.W oW fans rejoice: the Steelseries World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse Edition is here to improve your DPS, work 20 spells simultaneously, and finally teach those rogues what it means to be done from behind. For 2 more buttons and excellent editing software, you can get the Razer Naga for $79.99. The World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse is a great asset to any WoW enthusiast, however the $99 price tag is a little cringe-worthy. This way you can easily move through the list and find what command you want. The button editing system was also intuitive and easy to understand as WoW-based commands like "Target Closest Enemy" and "Open All Bags" were neatly organized into categories like "Movement Buttons", "Action Buttons", and so on. On the gaming grid, I found the feel of the WoW mouse to be a little bulky for my tastes, otherwise it was an excellent companion as I explored the new starter levels of the Troll race and grew my character to level 25 (so far).
I was able to store my profile onto my mouse from my primary Windows-based computer and take it to a foreign Mac PC and have all my commands intact. I found the MMO Gaming mouse to be a great niche mouse. Most wireless mice operate on a 2.4GHz frequency, so if you're at a LAN party where there be wireless signals flying all over the place you may experience some interference, which is the last thing you want during a raid. The MMO Gaming Mouse is wired, which does clutter the desk a bit more, however it's a more secure connection than wireless mice. The mouse has on-board memory, so if you're planning on taking this mouse on the go to a foreign computer, your commands will stand. Good news is this feature can be turned off. However, as much as I loved the added style, it made my hand sweaty from the added heat. You can also choose the intensity of the color and pulsation. You can assign pre-programmed Game Commands, Profiles, Custom Macros, and different mouse sensitivities to buttons.įor added flair the palm rest portion of the MMO Gaming Mouse also lights up in almost any color you want. To program buttons you can either drag and drop the commands to the buttons designated spot, or highlight the command and press the button you want the action to correspond to. The interface also has a place to enter in your specific WoW character by entering your Realm and Chatacter Name, but it kept saying my character didn't exist. The software interface is fairly simple, you can create up to 10 profiles-one for each character or different button combinations for various combat scenarios. Thankfully, SteelSeries made the software compatible for both Macs and PCs, so both parties can enjoy raiding in harmony.
The SteelSeries MMO Gaming mouse comes packed with plug-and-play capabilities, but if you want to get more use out of this mouse for other than web browsing then the downloadable software is a must.
On top of the mouse are 5 buttons (not including the right and left mouse buttons) framing the scroll wheel and on the edges. There's one awkwardly placed button on the right side that is slightly sunken in that you're not sure if the click registers. There are 5 on the left side, two that can act as designated browser buttons. Buttons abound in this mouse, there are a total of 14 that can be customized (mouse buttons included).
